Layout Projects Will Never Be The Same. Only SmartTool(tm) electronic level can measure all angles in a 3600 range. Installing a deck, stair rail, extending a roof, or determining how much an old floor has sagged is simpler and less time consuming. The display even flips over with the level, and it shuts off automatically after 5 minutes when it is not being used, all this from a standard, 9-volt battery. Features: angle accuracy to 1/10 of a degree, the mode button lets you see angles in three ways-degrees, percent slope or pitch (inches of rise per foot of run), and Listen & Level(tm) ideal for poorly lit areas. Also allows hands-free operation as the audible tone alerts you when tool reaches level or plumb. SmartTool module only. SmartTool can also be purchased installed in an aluminum frame in 2 ft. (92288) or 4 ft. (92296) lengths.

Works as advertised. We used it for cave mapping as a digital laser clino. We tapped a laser to the top of it. The 'hold' button really helped out.
I bought this to use on my 4x4 truck to find some different angles, it works great ;)
I used this tool when working with the last company I was employed by and it is great. Works even better when you have the magnetic bracket that attaches to it so you can align the sat dish while watching the values on the tool. Unfortunately the company would not ship the bracket to me here in Iraq, so I have to wait until my vacation time in order to pick up the bracket. Bum deal.
I work in a furniture factory. I bet we have 20 of them in the factory now. Between the Smart Tool and the Bosch Protractor, we measure all angles digitally now. Quality and precision are way up. Tool and fixture makers, engineers and quality control all use them. Why be pretty close when you can be right on.
I have the 2ft framing version of this level, and I bought this to fit tighter spaces. It's a great product. I would have given it 5 stars if it were a little bit smaller.
